One ! of the main factors being that this tournament is extremely fast. ! Your PF-Raise can as easily be a pair or face cards as Ax. The flop ! bet doesn't necessarily scream strong Ace. A pair betting into a ! scary flop like that clarifies where you are immed. A7s had value ! in the top-pair weak kicker, the heart draw, and the folding equity. ! Unless you had two-pair, the FLOP in the face of a ALL-IN RR was ! as scary for you as for him. I think the folding equity was pretty high ! With the sum of the chance he had you beat on a continuation bet, ! the chance of hitting the flush, and the chance something less than ! two-pair folds plus the fact that this tournament requires you to build ! chips fast means his ALL-IN wasn't unreasonable. Now. The Call. ! I personally think it's dumb to call off a raise for 20% of your chips w ! K9o. But that's not what you are bitching about. Once he called off ! 20%, you can almost argue that he obligated to go all the way if he ! hits any part of the flop. Being left with $2800 in this tourney, even ! this early, isn't a great place to be. Given that he's got a decent piec ! of the flop, and likely to have live redraws, that the all-in (especiall ! in this loosey-goosey tourney) could easily be on just a draw (hey ! people are crazy) and that you are still to act after him and he could ! Quadruple up and that this tournament is kind of a pain in the ass to ! play and thus prone to people taking shots, and that he's going to ! be left with $2800, I don't think it's unreasonable to for him to take a ! stand for the 15% chance he's got to triple or quadruple up. The ! pot-odds don't make sense but I think it's at least debatable whether th ! tourney-odds do make sense. Would I have made either of those plays ! that way? Probably not. Do I think they are aggressive? Yes. Very. ! Do I think they were unreasonable in this tourney? Not in the least. ! -- Andrew Cook -- _____________________________________________________________________________ ! 12/07/06 02:41:10! Andrew Cook folds ! 12/07/06 02:41:10!
